About This Position
The Director, Project Finance, will lead and manage project finance opportunities associated with the SkyVest portfolio and new potential acquisitions. This position will focus on structuring, negotiating and executing financing solutions for our utility scale renewable energy power plant portfolio. This position will lead project finance debt raises, PTC transfer transactions, and tax equity raises for all the projects in the SkyVest portfolio. The Director, Project Finance, will also be heavily involved in the growth of SkyVest by completing diligence, valuation, and analysis of the capital structures of potential M&A targets. This position will require expertise in the specifics of financing renewable energy projects including a deep knowledge and ability to perform financial modelling for tax equity financings, including both ITC, PTC, and repowering projects.
This position will report directly to the CFO and work closely with CEO and M&A team at SkyVest and the deal/finance teams at ArcLight.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Lead and execute project and corporate level financings for the SkyVest portfolio, including corporate debt, project debt, PTC transfer sales, and tax equity financings.
- Negotiate credit agreements, tax equity agreements and ancillary documents with lenders and/or tax equity investors.
- Lead project-finance diligence efforts of potential acquisition targets focusing on analyzing debt agreements, tax equity financing agreements, and other facets of the capital structure.
- Negotiate amendments to enhance existing debt facilities and to manage debt portfolio at SkyVest.
- Optimize financing strategy SkyVest by working with President and CFO to create and execute strategy.
- Perform tax equity modelling for assets in the SkyVest portfolio and for acquisition targets.
- Work with Asset and Cash Management teams to ensure appropriate debt compliance processes and procedures are in place to maintain the policies and procedures of each of the debt and tax equity instruments in the portfolio.
- Track liquidity in each of the portfolio companies and financings to ensure lean and efficient operations and coverage ratios are maintained.
- Assist with the asset integration efforts of newly acquired power plants by SkyVest.
- Assist with the delivery monthly financial reporting and provide support for the board, advisors, ArcLight and investor relations.
Qualifications And Skills
- Bachelors and/or Masters Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in finance.
- 10 + years in financial analysis, investment banking, project finance, and renewable energy finance.
- Strong tax equity financial energy modelling skills.
- Renewable energy accounting experience.
- High attention to detail and standards for work product.
- Highly organized, detailed oriented with a problem-solver mentality.
- Ability to communicate efficiently and effectively.
- Understanding of and ability to manage complex financial models a plus.
- Conscientious about timeliness of assignments and quality of work product.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including ability to articulate recommendations in a concise and timely manner.
Physical And Sensory Requirements
- Mostly sedentary work; using standard office equipment including: a computer, keyboard, and telephone.
- Position is based in either Newtown, PA or Houston, TX with regular attendance in those office locations mandatory.
- Position requires some travel to other SkyVest offices, assets, and ArcLight offices.
